Most people experience a lot of ambivalence and internal conflict when trying to end a habit or make a desired change. One part of the mind (the conscious, logical part) desperately wants to make the healthy change while the other part (the subconscious, emotional part) has difficulty maintaining the change. This other part of the mind often fears giving up this familiar way of coping. I use a variety of techniques proven to help end this internal conflict, customized for each individual client, depending on your needs, personal situation, and goals. These strategies derive from effective methods including Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, and more. As the internal conflict subsides you will become “unstuck” from the addiction and free to live the life you’ve always wanted!
